Our deluxe push rotary lawn mower.

Merry Christmas Abe. And for New Year's we'll open you a savings account.
Poor kid, my new year's resolutions aren't very exciting for him.

Happy New Year!

My parents came to Singapore. It was fun to have them here for Christmas. Mary told my mom we would be in Utah for Christmas in two years. She asked why and Mary said because Dallin would be coming home. She is already counting down the days.

Dan had a friend from high school pass away last week. He went to Utah for the funeral on Saturday and is just boarding the flight back now. A super fast trip, but he did run up to Wolfcreek to play. I think he got a snowmobile ride and some snow shoeing in, but he was freezing. From the photos, it looks like he never took it off. Granted it was negative two degrees, but I'm really hoping it doesn't make its way back to Singapore.
It looks more like an old ladies fur stole than a wolf skin rug. The head is really creepy.

Christmas was fun- Moses was a little Elf.

Scout got these little wooden dolls and a new doll from your mom. I've never met a little girl who loves dolls so much.

I'm sleeping all the time- I look like a zombie.

Dan looks the opposite- he is doing some late night training for his race. Usually post bedtime and pre baby duty.

Sunday morning.

The holidays.

Mom and Dad just boarded their flight. It was so great to have them here. I'm afraid they need a break from their vacation. Add a little bit of jet lag and I'm sorry if the Utah clan's New Year's Eve party is a little sluggish or ends by 10:30.

It is fun that Mary and Abe can play so many older games now. We have been laying board games for two days. I think today would be a good day for legos or spies.

We had many generous gifts during the holidays. On Christmas morning Maeser commandeered ABe;s army men and passed on opening any more presents. When I tried to get him to open another he said, "Give it to Scout."

Grandma Skousen snt some little Russian dolls and they have been a favorite for Scout. 30 minutes on any activity for a two year old is welcome!
Life is still rather slow here. Dan's short trip to Utah looks freezing but I almost wish it was me instead of him!

Poolside

A skinny little neck.
Catching some rays, again.

We made it out to the pool.

12/02/2015

Dan is out trying to get a few late night rides in. So thankful for him, he isn't getting much time to himself lately. This is post bedtime and pre baby duty.

Extra sleep last night because this little guy played with Dan downstairs.

December! Already!

Had plans to make a cup of hot chocolate all day, just to celebrate the season... I'm sure I'll get to it tomorrow.
It was a busy week. This was the beginning... lying in bed timing contractions and watching Maeser sleep- the only time he is in a peaceful quiet state.

Moses was born on Wednesday, (3 1/2 weeks early, maybe less). Sarah and Rocky and Dan's parents were all in town for Thanksgiving. Having contractions, we left Sarah and Rocky in their bathing suits with our children (postponing the trip to the water park for only an hour) and went in to get checked. The doctor said he would schedule the operation room and that the baby would be here by noon. Relief!
He was wise to schedule it immediately because sometime in the next 45 minutes, up to when the baby was born, we ran into some complications and some major repair work was needed to patch up my uterus. TMI? After the baby was born he put me to sleep and sent Dan out. I woke up in ICU two hours later and spent the night under observation with a pick and drain. Everything has been best case scenario since then and we are all home. Having skipped Thanksgiving dinner- I can't wait until Christmas!

My Thanksgiving dinner and the first meal I ate after the baby- it was delicious. (Chicken and onion gruel.)

Little Mo- Moses Lamond Hughes is 6 lbs and 18.25 inches and just as adorable and alien looking as any other newborn. So thankful he is here and healthy!

I have slept almost 18 hours a day since- Dan managing everything with the kids. In his words:

Running out of stuff in the freezer with me in charge here. Wonder if Magnum delivers.

It's not so bad getting up with the kids when someone is happy to see you. (She always wakes up this happy.)

To Maser's dismay, Dallin has returned to Utah to enter the MTC.

With Dallin gone, Mary and Abe have been picking up the slack. (Dan sent me the photo below, total heart melt...)

I think Dan's ironman training has taken a huge hit this week. Only a couple runs in, but he did capture this amazing view of the jungle forest right outside our house.

And then he sent me this from his morning run... Yes, it is just as big as it looks!

Recovery is slow, but as long as Dan is serving up breakfast in bed, I'll take it. So much to be thankful for this year. Dan, the children, family, baby Moses...
