Last Christmas Dan bought me a piano. I was excited to have it so Mary could take lessons.
I have always known how to play a little bit. I stress little. I don't remember ever enjoying it when I was young. I remember dreading lessons and never practicing. I could have hated it because my sisters were better at it than I. I'll admit I am very competitive, so deciding not to like something because I couldn't excel as fast as others didn't seem like a bad idea. Now I disagree.
So, I made a goal to be able to play a few songs by the end of this year. This means I have to practice. I enjoy the few minutes at the piano. I'm not the only one who is happy to have it here. Dan plays almost daily, and Mary practices too. The music makes me happy. Mary's small accomplishments get everyone excited. And when Dan says, "Hey, I think I'm getting better!" I think "Hooray! I guess I'd better practice some more." :)
I love the piano.
