National Origin Confusion

Mary was telling me about her friend Hikaru that is coming over to play this week. I asked if she was Thai, she said "no, she's English, just like me" (she's Japanese).

The picture here is from her school where she was supposed to dress up in Thai clothes for a holiday celebration, but she only has a dress from Laos.

Imperial Gardens Part 2

These gardens were nice, and the weather was so cool. Everything in Japan seems so clean too, even the dirt seems clean (I guess it's possible that they wash it).
Abe enjoyed his grandpa time.
This was some good sushi, thanks dad, and thanks for the trip!

Imperial Gardens Part 1

The walls to this palace were huge. These are the walls surrounding the gardens, and there was a courtyard with bunks for 100 Samurai warriors.

This is the very center of the gardens on a hill, a tower sat here years ago but was burned down. Great views.

Around town in Tokyo

We rented some bikes. It was one of the highlights of the trip (something we always wanted to do in Bangkok, but it's always too hot)"fstrb, fstr!"
This was really dangerous, neither of these people should be allowed to steer a bike in a public place. With both of them on the same bike...
Tokyo temple
This is a visitors house for the emperor's guests. Mary asked why we weren't staying there then. She really wanted to go inside to see the princesses.

shibuya and walking around a park

They have a Grom.
This was a really nice park

Tokyo

Abe preferred to use the chopsticks as a drum set. It wasn't a very child friendly place to eat, they were more than happy to see us go.

A little bit of rain. We found these cool transparent umbrellas. Maybe we should have kept one to mail to Sam.

We visited a few museums and the international childrens' library. I loved it, and I think Mary did too.

Abe became quite proficient at his job.

We went to Japan

Dan's dad brought us out to Tokyo to meet him. It was a great vacation, thanks dad.

The children have become great little travelers. We had a lot of fun.

This is one of the last shots we have of Abe's hair. We cut it the day after we got back.

Pleasant for me, Abe preferred to sit with Dan the entire flight out, and back.

Mary's a gem on airplanes. I think she watch two movies and slept for the rest of the flight. She is growing into such a beautiful girl.

Aaawe.
