Birthday Parties

Lucky Mary had two birthday parties. Here she is relishing in the attention. She loved it when anyone sang to her. She now walks around the apartment singing "Happy Birthday" to herself.
Mary attempted to blow out the candles. It took at least a full 60 seconds, then she had a little help from Grandpa across the table. Thanks grandpa, had we waited til she got it we might still be there.
Yum!

"So Big!"
The second party was on her real birthday. Note: under the dress that she must wear everyday now, is the "2" shirt Abby made her for her birthday. Thanks Abs.
Mary didn't have any better luck blowing out these candles. Dan helped her along.

This has already become a treasured item. Grandma Skousen found her a doll for the bath. Tonight when I put her to bed she was crying for it. It is amazing how fast she has become attached. She also got doll clothes and a stroller for her birthday, put it all together and she has been toting quite a load around today.
We had a lot of fun this week, and Mary was completely spoilt. Happy Birthday M!

Our Christmas Tree

This year we got a tree! It was a lot of work, but definitely worth it.
Dan, Rocky and Spencer went to cut the trees on Saturday. (It is a Juniper tree, kind of like sage brush but taller, it's the kind of tree that you get if you weren't there on they day they sell the regular tree permits.)

When Dan got home with it it was too big for our apartment, so he had to cut a bit off the stump. This is Dan putting on the lights.
Trying to make it stand up.
I started stringing popcorn. Have you ever strung popcorn before? I hadn't. It took a long time. This was my helper. I tried to keep her from eating off my string, but she ate about half. I didn't get anywork done til she went to bed.
An hours worth of work with M's help.
Still helping.
We decorated it the next day. Dan and Mary did a great job.
I helped a little bit.
This is our beautiful tree!
